When Skanray set out to create their next-generation patient monitors TruSKAN-i series, they had a clear vision: To create a device that was not only
clinically advanced but also visually compelling and cost-effective.
Our team took on the task of evolving the industrial design for the new TruSKAN-i series. We focused on a modular approach, designing for a single hardware platform that could be adapted for both the i10 and i12 models, ensuring cost efficiency.
The core of our work was to infuse a sense of warmth and approachability into a product category often characterized by a cold, utilitarian appearance. We meticulously crafted the form to optimize for usability and ergonomics of the patient monitors by paying close attention to every detail such as :
- Buttons & knob shape & size,
- LED & icons,
- Size & positioning of LED beacon,
- Display angle,
- Knob size,
- Handle design,
- Interchangeability between wall mount, pole mount & bed railmount details.
The final design successfully balances various use cases and a refreshing aesthetic that helps the TruSKAN patient monitors stand out in a crowded market.
