Caddy: Revolutionizing Mobile Dentistry
Client: Doux Dentistry Pvt Ltd.
The world of dentistry has long been confined to the four walls of a clinic. But what if the most common dental procedures could be performed anywhere—in the comfort of a patient’s home or at a remote dental camp? This was the groundbreaking vision behind a project aimed at disrupting the dental care segment with a truly portable, all-in-one dental device. The goal was to unlock a new era of mobile dentistry by Doux Dentistry Pvt Ltd.
The Challenge: Balancing Performance and Portability
Our mission was to develop a portable device that didn’t compromise on the quality and performance of a traditional dental clinic. The core challenge lay in the technology: how to compact the pneumatic and water lines required for dental procedures without sacrificing operating performance. We worked hand-in-hand with our client, dental professionals, and pneumatic component OEMs to achieve a level of comfort and efficiency that clinicians could rely on. After rigorous testing and multiple design iterations, we successfully created a system that met and exceeded the expectations of clinicians, achieving an optimal balance of performance, weight, and size.
Thoughtful Design for a Seamless Experience
Beyond the core technology, we addressed every aspect of the user needs to ensure this device was truly practical for real-world use. We meticulously designed solutions for:
- Storage: Creating easy access hooks for handpieces and smart compartments for excess tubing to keep the device organized and ready for use.
- Mobility: Ensuring the device was lightweight and easy to transport, making mobile dentistry a realistic and convenient option. Device was designed to be adaptable between transport cart and the device with wheels for different user needs.
- Aesthetics: Crafting a medical device with a modern, professional appearance that instills confidence in both the user and the patient.
- Intuitive Interface: Developing a user interface that is easy to understand and operate, minimizing the learning curve for busy practitioners.
- Safety: Prioritizing user and patient safety in every design choice, adhering to all necessary medical standards.
- Reduced Noise: Engineering to damp the vibrations and minimise the pneumatic pump noises to best possible levels allowing the clinician to work in peace.
The result is a device that is more than just a piece of equipment; it’s a fully functional mobile dental clinic. This groundbreaking product truly is the first of its
kind, opening up new opportunities to expand access to dental care wherever it is needed.
